I think we have all struggled with this one. For a full figure woman, is an underwire better than a softcup? I am a super sized lady and my breasts are very full and heavy. At my size, lift is difficult to find. Usually wearing softcups, the weight of my heavy breasts seems to get less shaping in them. And I get a lot of bounce. Yet an underwire seems to cut into me. And I never know whether to get a front hook for ease of putting my bra on, or a back hook which gives my boobs better separation. Anybody have an opinion?

Hi SSBBW! I too am a large girl. I measured about 66" on my bustline, so I know your struggle. I myself like a good underwire. I think it gives my heavy boob size more lift and shpae. But they really dig into my fat and I can't find one in my size. So I always wear a softcup. I found it helps to get a softcup with a foam inner support in the cups. It gives a nice rounded shape to my boobs. I also struggle with a lot of boob bounce when I walk. Boy, the men love it, lol, but it is uncomfortable. I just recently bought an Elila bra, from the advice of Vermont. It is a great bra! It gives me nice shape and lifts the girls up off my tummy. The band is a little big, I will be getting a smaller band. but for a softcup bra, it is wonderful and I highly suggest it. I don't know if it comes in a 70" band, but maybe you could add a couple of extenders on it. I don't understand why more manufacturers do not make bras big enough for us really big ladies. From the people I see, they could make a bundle of money if they did. There's a lot of us big girls out there:) Hope this helps!

Hi SSBBW. I never mind when someone stares at my boobs. I am okay with my size and always think of the ladies out there that wished they had boobs like mine, lol. Sometimes its annoying when you try and talk with someone and they stare at your tits, but I just keep on talking. One time, I embarrassed a guy so bad. I was in a store and he was totally staring at my boobs. I went over to him and said are your eyes stuck? Then I pulled my shirt down some and showed a little boobage. He was so embarrassed, he ran out, lol. I guess he won't do that again! Anybody else have a funny story?

Hi ladies. I wear an underwire and have always liked them. I have a smaller body frame, but large breasts. I am a 38FF bra. Only an underwire seems to give me good lift and projection. I wear a Goddess style bra and like it very much. I may be changing though as I am pregnant and expect my breasts to grow a lot. I will be looking for a nursing bra in an underwire as well. To me, the softcup bras never seem to lift my breasts up where I like them.

As for back hook or front, I like the convenience of the front hook bra, but because of the weight of my breasts, I need a back hook. My bras have four rows of hooks, and this helps to pull them up into place much better than a front hook. As for others staring, I never mind that. I feel that if people want to stare, it is because they are jealous they can't touch them or they don't have them! I have a funny story too. One time when at the bus stop, this guy kept staring. I ignored him, and then he actually asked me my size. I politely smiled, lifted my blouse and said what do you think my size is? I caught him so off gaurd, he walked off and was so embarrassed to get on the bus. Later before he got off, he did apologize and we both laughed about it. I think it is just curiosity when people stare.

I like back hook bras. I always fall out of the front hook styles, I think my breasts are much too large for them. I have never tried a bra without hooks, would be interesting I think.

I prefer a back hook bra. I have tried front hooks before, but they never seem to lay flat in between my breasts. I think that is because of my larger cup size. I also found front hooks bras tricky to hook and try to keep my breasts out of the way. I found it easier to hook them first, and then tuck my boobies in after it is hooked.

Same problem here Busty Betty. My cups never lay flat in between my boobs. When I did try an underwire, it was like having a shelf in the center of my boobs! Not pleasant.

Hi SSBBW. An underwire can show through in between your boobs if it is not sized right. If you wear a cup too small, the wire is not shaped wide enough to accomodate your breast tissue and sticks out. I have had that problem, but when you find the right one, they are nice for that added lift.

Hi Betty Sue, yep, my underwire bras in the past have done just that. I have not been able to find a wire wide enough to fully encompass my boobs, I think that's why they stick out.

Hi ladies, I really don't think underwires work when you have a really large cup size. They just seem to poke and stick out all the time. Although I wish the softcup bras had a little more lift to them for those of us with saggy boobs. Any suggestions out there and how to avoid saggy boobs? It may be too late for me at my age.

Hi Busty Betty, true an underwire can poke and stick out when the fit is wrong. But if you get the exact one you need, an underwire gives me tremendous lift! I like the girls to be out and up there nice and high, and an underwire does that better than any softcup I have picked!

Hello. I like to wear softcup bras, uncerwires bite into me. I also like the front hook style, it seems easier for me to get on once I get by busts inside the cups. I am sure I could get more lift and separation from underwires, but can never find one to fit.

Hi Helen, I don't like underwires either. I have tried front hooks, but my boobs just fall out of them and they are near impossible for me to fasten. I think Elila has a nice underwire bra, you can look at ladygrace.com. Let me know what you find!

Hi ladies, has anyone ever heard of a bra with removable underwires? I have heard there is one designed to be both underwire, for those times when you want maximum lift, and removable for when you want moderate or light support. Anybody know?

Hi Busty, I have not. It would be a neat idea though. Underwires do provide just a hint more of structure and shape as well as lift, who can't use that, lol. In some softcup bras, my boobs just go where they want to, it's hard to keep good shape if the softcup isn't made industrial strength as Vermont says, lol.
