Hi Busty Betty, HAve not heard of a bra with removable underwires either. I would wonder how effective the underwires woud be if they are removed and handled from time to time. I'd think they will be bent and then be out of the orientation they should be for the shaping.

Hi, Just found this site! I am thrilled! OK, on topic, I prefer back hook bras for many of the reasons stated here, but also for personal preference and for the fact that the bras I have gravitated to were never made in front-hook styles. Before the days of essentially structureless bras, but not including wired bras, there were what I have come to call "hard cup" bras. Perhaps one of the few good things my ex ever did was buy me an old fashioned, but new, bullet bra. At the time I was just a little offended, and put off by this strange old thing which I had been brought up to believe were uncomfortable. But it was new and in its original box (they were sold in boxes way back when), and it was made of mostly non-stretch satin, including the straps. It only had elastic at the back clasp area. Being an engineer you know I had to investigate the history of bras, but this came later. Oddly enough, he had guessed the exact correct size, how I will never figure out as cup and frame sizes back then were quite different than they are today. For instance I am a modern D or DD, but nicely round out a vintage C, go figure. So, eventually, not when he gave it to me, I tried it on. Rigid frame, pointy cups, and a single-hook clasp in back with these very weird metal adjusters for the rigid straps. But it had something. And after I got the hang of the straps, and figured out how to hide the leftover front bit of the strap (after I got it right), it felt simply wonderful! Long story short, it soon became my favorite bra, and not long after I became e-bay aware (last century) I began to collect them in all of their amazing styles and retro-glory, and they are all I wear. What I can tell you all is this, they built superbly engineered bras back between the 1940's through late 1960's. Cunningly cut satin and cotton broadcloth frames, with minimum use of elastic and amazingly good engineering. Once I got properly "hooked" into one of these, I never looked, well, forward (just back) again. And oh those cups, ooh la la! Surprisingly, you can hardly tell what the cups are doing to you by feel, they are so comfortable, but I have to be careful not to put the boys eyes out, even from long range.......

Welcome Bonnie Sue! Glad you shared. I remember those bras vaguely. I believe that they make your breasts really pointy. Do you mind having your boobs pointy? I might like that style to try. I like my juggs to have a lot of projection. Do you have a manufacturers name or place to buy them? Let me know!

Obviously I am new here, but are posts heavily censored here?

Hi Bonnie Sue, I think it is censored some here. Probably good to keep it clean:) I still would like to know more about those bras if you get a chance.

Hi Denise, While you're looking at http://www.cameo-intimates.com for the shear bras they also carry bullet bras. You'll be able to check out both.

Welcome Bonnie Sue, great info! I am not sure how large you are, but a pointy boob could cause some serious eye injury, lol. How does that style work for your fashions?

I am surprised at the censoring part as all I stated in the post that did not get posted (and I sent it twice) was some info about old bras and their manufacturers, not very much about some redux manufacturers, and certainly not any links to them. Although I think I may have invented the saying that no one can offend you if you do not actually choose to be offended, but the censoring of that fairly innocent post I do indeed find offensive. I would love to stay and share but since that does not seem practical, I will therefore give you my adieu. Nice meeting all of you.

Hi Bonnie Sue. I am not sure why your post did not go through, I wish you would stay though. You seem like you have a lot to offer! If not, take care.

Hi Vermont. I looked up those bullet bras online, all I can say is WOW! I would knock someone out in one of those! Have you ever tried one? If so, how does it fit our cup size? Let me know, it might be interesting to try.

Hi ladies, no bullet bras for me. I never liked pointy boobs, they don't seem attractive to me. I like mine nice and round. Vermont, what would be your preference, round or pointy?

Hi girls, I prefer nice round and shapely juggs. Although I bet the pointy look could be fun sometimes;)

Hi Denise. I had a bullet bra years ago when I was a little smaller. It was quite an interesting look and boy did it get me noticed! I kind of did like the point boob look. I don't think I could find one in my cup size now though. My husband used to love the pointy look, not sure what the attraction is there. Our society has us trained that a pointy look is bad and that boobs should be rounded out.
